Many people have difficulty starting a research paper. For me, however, once I start I am halfway there. If I can find research paper topics that interest me, getting into the paper is a breeze. It started off innocently enough. Basically, I was searching for research paper topic ideas on the Internet. I was supposed to do research on the anthropology of contemporary American culture. I could either study a particular anthropologist, or else do my own research. The problem was, there were so many possibilities that I couldn’t narrow them down. I have been honest in the past, and I had never cheated before, but I was curious as to the quality of the writing. It actually was quite worthwhile. I found many research paper topic ideas on that website that I’d never even thought about, and my final research paper was related to some of those projects. Unfortunately, in a moment of cryptomnesia, I typed a section of one of those online research papers into my own. I did not do it consciously, and the possibility of being caught was almost nil. I guess I was just unlucky. My professor had seen that same exact research paper topic ideas website, and recognized the source. Because of my curiosity and my clumsiness, I was almost expelled. As it was, I had to take that whole class over again. Worst of all, my academic credibility has been damaged beyond repair. I have lost my advisor for my thesis, and can not find another one.
